• the World Commission on the 2013 International Year of Quinoa
○ last organizing meeting for activities and general reports

○ at MMB Pachacutec, Cusco, Peru.

• the World Commission on the 2014 International Year of Crystallography 
○ general sessions and scientific and technological meetings
○ on Wednesday, October 31 thru Sunday, November 4, 2012
○ at MMB Southern Rocky Mountains, Colorado, United States

• the World Commission on the 2014 International Year of Family Farming
○ general sessions, research reports, special participants
○ on Wednesday, October 31 thru Sunday, November 4, 2012

Additionally, the World Council announces the official openings and closing world year observance activities as follows.

• the 2013 International Year of Quinoa

○ opening day: Thursday, October 4, 2012
○ closing day: Thursday, December 22, 2013
